Annual Meetings

Garkane Energy is an electric cooperative.  It is owned by the members it serves.  For this purpose, Garkane meets in three district locations to inform the members in those areas of the current happenings of Garkane Energy and to allow them a voice in the operations of Garkane Energy.

Garkane's Annual Meetings serve a variety of purposes ranging from informing members of the happenings over the past year, to allowing members to interact with board members, staff, and employees, and to allow any questions or concerns to be voiced.

As mentioned above, Garkane hosts 3 Annual Meetings a year.  The date & tme of the next Meetings are tentatively scheduled for the last full week in April in the following areas:  Bicknell, Kanab, Tropic, and Duck Creek  (the meeting for Duck Creek will be held in conjuction with the Tropic Meeting)

Typically, the Annual Meetings are held at High School Auditoriums.

Each Annual Meeting includes a BBQ from 4:30 pm to 6:30pm, Informational booths and a health fair from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and the business session from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Annual Meeting Business sessions include a video summary of the past year (which also includes the CEO and Board President Report,  and the Board Treasurer report), results from the director elections, Youth speakers from the past summer's UREA Conference, and a guest speaker.  An annual report, detailing more fully of the happenings of the past year, is also provided to all who attend.
