Garkane Energy - Youth Tour
For over 40 years, electric cooperatives have sponsored high school students from across America to visit the nation’s capitol and meet their members of congress. You could be part of this tremendous opportunity.
The Electric Cooperative Youth Tour has brought high school students to Washington, D.C. every June since the late 1950s. Be part of the nearly 1,500 high school students from across the nation for a fun-filled week in Washington!
Students on the Tour learn about electric cooperatives, American history and U.S. government. They participate in National Youth Day, visit with their representatives in the House and the Senate, and explore the sights around Washington, D.C.
Students compete for this opportunity, and are selected to participate through their school and local rural electric cooperative. If you want to join this Washington tradition, contact Garkane Energy for additional information.
