Garkane Energy Cooperative, Inc. serves all or parts of six counties in South-Central Utah and two counties in North-Central Arizona, a rural area, with considerable tourism. The Cooperative serves four national parks, two national monuments, a national recreation area, three national forests, and considerable BLM lands. Several state parks are also served. Private lands encompass only about 10% of the coops service territory of 16,000 square miles. Excellent outdoor recreation activities abound, including hunting, fishing, camping, boating and hiking. 

The cooperative is located about 150 miles south of Salt Lake City, Utah; 200 miles northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada; and 200 miles north of Phoenix, Arizona. 

The Cooperatives’ eighty-five employees serve approximately 16,500 meters over 2,216 miles of distribution and transmission line. 

Formed by the members it serves, everyone has a say. Members elect Board of Directors from 11 districts to represent them to ensure quality service and affordable rates. Garkane is a unique company in that if you have concerns about the direction of the company, your Director has direct input into how the company is run. It is important to be involved and stay informed on the issues facing the cooperative.
